Stone Fruits are a culinary and horticultural group of fruits with fleshy pulp surrounding a hard endocarp, or stone, that encloses the seed. Examples include various plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines, sweet cherries, and sour cherries. In Czech cuisine, stone fruits are eaten fresh and used for compotes, jams, thick fruit preserves (povidla), fruit dumplings, pies, and fruit spirits such as slivovice, meruňkovice, and třešňovice.
