Lučina is a Czech thermized cream cheese whose production began at Povltavské mlékárny, a. s. in Sedlčany. It was first introduced to the Czech market in 1981. The first variety produced was Kostka, wrapped in foil. After 2000, as technology developed, Lučina gradually began to be produced in many other varieties distinguished by name, weight, composition, and packaging.

Hygiene requirements at the Lučina production facility also became stricter over time. Today, the production area may be entered only while wearing a hairnet, rubber boots, and protective clothing, as well as gloves if the person's fingernails are painted. Every employee must wash their hands with soap and disinfectant before entering.

Uses

It is a spreadable cheese suitable both for spreads and for spreading directly on bread or rolls.
